Bergamot, neroli, and black pepper open it up sharp and citrusy, with a real edge to it. Lavender, clary sage, and violet settle in next, herbal and a little resinous — this is where the "rock rose" character shows up, dry and leathery rather than floral despite the name. Cacao, vetiver, and amber take over at the end, deep and slightly gourmand-woody, with patchouli grounding the whole thing.

This is Clive Christian at its most maximalist — over 200 ingredients, according to the brand, and it wears that complexity. Not subtle, not cheap, and not for someone who wants something easy to wear.
